Why and How? Web Address Registration

Mortgage Refinancing Our own web address gives us flexibility. We can earn money while having fun on internet. Domain registration is not a difficult process.

The first step into the cyberspace universe is registration of your own web address — domain name. It may commence your start of financial independence.

Juegos For someone new to online marketing, wanting to make cash and who doesn’t what MySQL is from HTML, it may seem overwhelming.

Its really not that hard, you just need to follow a step by step system that says do this and you do it and do that and you do that, its a surefire way to keep you from getting “analysis paralysis” and you end up just reading and researching and you never get anything done.

You can choose to build a blog and regularly update it and monetize it or build an affiliate site, product review or product site, there are just so many sites that you can build or buy to flip and make money with.

Real Estate A top level domain name can only point to one website at a time, and that is where domain brokering comes into play.

Do you see how domain brokering works? You are essentially leasing or transferring the domain name rights to another company.

While you can theoretically broker any domain name, it helps if the domain you are trying to broker has some equity.

What is domain name equity? Well, lets look at it with another real world example. If you own property in Atherton, California (currently the most expensive city to buy property in in the US), it is likely to be worth more than property anywhere else in the United States. The Internet isn’t much different. In fact, most of the offline business models have online counterparts. Domain brokering is the equivalent to a land developer. Or at the very least a real estate agent.

When you broker a domain you sell the rights to that domain to another company, or you lease the name to them for a period of time. You make money, because the domain name has value, either because it is currently trendy, or it fits into the company’s niche.

Lets explore these options a little further.

First, take the trendy option. If you have been a part of the online community for a little while, you know which sites are currently the top hangouts. They’re trendy, and there are a lot of other sites out there offering supplementary services to these sites. They are often similarly named and styled. Often, domain name brokers will create derivative names for the “in” sites. These names are now in their portfolio. As popularity grows for the site, demand also grows for good domain names to offer supplementary services through. This is where the domain broker’s portfolio comes into play.

Brokering the domain names now will result in profit. The amount of profit depends greatly on the demand for the domain name, and the experience of the broker.

One case of trendy domain brokering is casino.mobi, which was brokered for $135,000. This isn’t an unheard of amount for domain brokering, some portfolios are worth millions. However, it was a milestone for the .mobi top level domain names.

What about niches? You know the expression: “find a niche and fill it.” Niches are what drives business on the web today. They are also lend themselves to domain brokering.

All right, you are set to register your very own domain name. What is your next step? There are many domain registrars. My favorite is GoDaddy. The company has been established for a long time, is reliable, has first-class customer service and the process is fully automated and painless. All you are required to do is to go to GoDaddy and select appropriate options on the registration screen. Watch out: select options that you need, otherwise you will pay much more then you need to.

Another thing to consider is what domain name is available and is keyword rich, you will also need a web hosting account where your files will be stored.

On both counts, I’d recommend NameCheap.com as they allow you to register domain names with privacy protection (when you register a domain name, you are normally required to provide your personal or business contact information, which anyone can use to find the owner of a domain and stalk or spam them).

You will also need website templates, graphics and if you want the site to sell at a higher price, you can even add audio and video.

If you do not have the skills to do these things they can be easily outsourced cheaply at freelancing sites like Getafreelancer.com and eLance.com.

Not all websites will sell and other site’s selling price will be determined to a large degree by what niche the site is in and how much the site is making or could reliably make and how much traffic the site is receiving as well You can be published without charge.
